Beatrice Big Blue Water Park — Attraction in Beatrice

Pool: 4.5* Guards: 2.5* Bathroom/Showers: 2* Great pool in Beatrice! Stopped by while passing through town. Large pool, 2 slides, 2 diving boards. There is also a baby splash area. Most of the lifeguards are attentive and friendly. Pool safety check each hour (for about ten minutes). I think this is more of a break for the guards, as they go in the hut, while patrons have to be out of the pool. A few of the lifeguards, that I noticed, were not really paying attention. A couple lifeguards were rude when telling (yelling at) small kids to walk or stay off the lane ropes. Same guards that were yelling at said kids, were allowing older teenagers to horse around on the wide slide (doing dangerous things). However, I would not judge all the lifeguards on a couple. Like I said, most of the lifeguards were friendly and attentive. Snack bar has reasonably priced items. Compared to how new the pool looks, the bathrooms are not the greatest (at least the women's bathroom). Mirrors were spotted dirty, the two shower stalls had curtains hanging from them, however, they might as well not had anything hanging there. Took my kids here. Soo disappointed. Dirty pool (bugs, Hair) wasps nest under The kiddie slide. The only nice staff members were a young male lifeguard and a young male running concessions. The rest of the staff does not allow kids to play with each other in any capacity. I get safety concerns like no running and such. I witnessed staff waving their fingers three inches from these kids yelling at them. “ how many times do we have to tell you” just plain disrespectful and degrading of poor kids. Scolded me for my twins playing at the bottom of the baby frog slide that NO ONE else was even near. Not climbing it or anything just simply playing at the bottom of it. They sell pool passes for the whole summer, my granddaughter went almost daily through the 2017 summer season, I had to get ahold of her once and called the pool, they handle parent calls very nicely, they paged her over intercom and waited on the phone with me till she came to the office area, thought that was really great.
