Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center — Attraction in Beckley

Its not a bad con if you want to go to a con, but its extremely disorganized, the game room was disappointing, panels weren't as described and were consistently being cancelled, the vendor room was a mix of artists and vendors instead of having an artist alley, they didn't enforce WV law when it comes to service animals (they let in a reptile pet (or emotional support animal) but those aren't locally or federally recognized and do not have public access rights), and panels that were supposed to be for adults weren't appropriately marked on the schedule. But it is a convention for a great cause and is ran by volunteers who are doing their best. They kept the convention area safe and secure (had an issue with one guy but it was quickly and professionally handled). The panels I went to were fun and enjoyable. the worst experience ever there where no control of the crowds people did not know where to go the show was good put i went to the food stand and they did not have anything i wanted they were out of almost everything i am ashamed to be from beckley if this is all they have to offer the people who were there were very rude i recommend if you want to attend events like this its worth the drive to either charleston wv or roanoak va so much better venues you could not even understand what the globetrotters were saying the speakers where so staticed i had three children and myself and we dont get to do stuff like this much i am...

Nice venue for Raleigh County High School graduation ceremonies. The venue was extremely hot throughout the event. No one directed traffic into the event. Needless to say, parking became a cluster with everyone parking haphazardly. Traffic control was managed better by the County Sheriff's department afterwards. Concession stand or the vending machines should have been operable during the event for patrons to get water.
