This is one of my favorite parks in Houston. I would highly recommend to anyone outdoorsy who likes nature and animals. It is much more than just a park. There are actually two parks here, a nature center, walking paths, a small pond and a pool. The parks are very large with ample space to play soccer, badminton, etc. The playgrounds themselves are average but there are also several swing sets on both parks. These parks are across the street from each other. I call one a big kid park and the other a little kid park. The big park is great (on the side with the pool). It is the side with the little kid park though that has all the cool nature and play features. This side has a regular, smaller kid playground and swing set but also has a "creative play"/"free play" area with a sand box, play house, a big, life size wooden Lego set and all kinds of toys. The nature discovery center which manages this area has frequent unique activities to encourage kids to play in new ways. I have been very impressed with them to say the least. (Again, I am am outdoorsy person and they seem to be on the same wavelength.) Beyond the play area is a small pond with fish nets for the kids to play with and benches for anyone who just wants to relax. The nature trails then take over and lead to the nature discovery center. I absolutely love the nature discovery center. It has a place for parties, well maintained bathrooms and a few animals. I will leave a full review on a post for the...
Read moreI was a big fan of this playground/play space because it was wonderful, open-ended, natural play. Most playgrounds are straight forward but this had an additional space with sand, trucks, a wheelbarrow, some random "loose parts" to imagine with, a play house, and utensils. Needless to say, most of the kids were in the open-ended natural play area and the jungle gym was often vacant (although it was a good jungle gym as far as those go). Oh and swings & benches too. It's also connected by trails to the nature discovery center but we weren't too impressed with the indoors part of that. The small trails are good though with some outdoor...
Read moreTruly such a wonderful outdoor recreation area and I'm especially fond of how super sweet the residents are. My daughter spotted 2 gorgeous poodles that resembled her favorite "Barbie" dogs and she asked if she could take a quick photo and their owner was so happy to oblige I am so grateful I know she will cherish this! There's tons of play equipment for kids of all ages not to mention the neat zip line and before our journey all the way home they even had a clean portocan which is major convenience you don't see at every park. Super convenient. Fantastic place to bring the family thank you all for being...
