Tucked away in the heart of a charming, tree-lined neighborhood in Belle Isle—just a quick 10-minute drive from Orlando International Airport (MCO)—Warren Park feels like a serene escape from the hustle of Central Florida life. If you're visiting Orlando and craving a low-key spot to unwind without the theme park crowds, this 10-acre oasis on the shores of Lake Conway is an absolute must. It's the kind of place where locals bring their kids for playdates and joggers sneak in a peaceful loop, all while soaking in that quintessential Florida vibe. What really sets Warren Park apart are its top-notch facilities that cater to families, fitness buffs, and anyone who just wants to chill by the water. The playground is a highlight for the little ones: colorful slides twist and turn down from elevated platforms, while the climbing apparatus—complete with monkey bars, rope bridges, and textured rock walls—keeps even the most adventurous kiddos entertained for hours. It's all shaded by mature oaks, so no worries about the Florida sun turning playtime into a meltdown. For grown-ups, the amenities don't disappoint. Hit the tennis courts (which double as pickleball courts with fresh lines) for a casual match, or stroll the paved fitness path lined with exercise stations—think pull-up bars, balance beams, and stretching prompts that make it feel like a mini boot camp without the intimidation. Picnic areas with grills are scattered throughout, perfect for a lakeside barbecue, and there's even a canoe/kayak launch if you're feeling water-bound. But my favorite spot? The dock jutting out over Lake Conway. It's pure magic at sunset—sit with your feet dangling in the calm, glassy water, watch bass flicker beneath the surface, and admire the gentle lapping of waves against the shore. It's a front-row seat to one of Orlando's prettiest hidden waterways, and on a clear day, you might even spot an eagle soaring overhead. Overall, Warren Park earns a solid 5/5 from me. It's clean, well-maintained by Orange County, and free to access with ample parking and restrooms on-site. Whether you're road-tripping through Florida or calling Orlando home, swing by for an afternoon—it's the perfect blend of play, peace, and that unbeatable lakeside charm. Just pack some bug spray for those...
Read moreWe love bringing our kids here to play. The main playground is for kids up to 12 yrs old, and is mostly shaded, so you can play any time of the day. There are clean bathrooms and water fountains and plenty of picnic tables. We've never used the fitness course or tennis courts, but they're pretty well maintained and easily accessible. I also like to run around the perimeter of the park with my dog. There is a sidewalk along Daetwyler Dr and a pretty wide grassy strip between the outer fence of the park and the street pavement, which is exactly how I like it. Running on sidewalks can be jarring on knee joints. Just plain grass/dirt is better. So I appreciate how the fence is set back a bit.
There is plenty of shaded parking, and most of the bench-swings around the main playground are also shaded.
A small part of the park is lakefront and has a 2nd, smaller play structure. I wish swimming was still allowed, but the dock is well maintained and offers a nice view. I'm not sure if fishing is allowed or not.
Dogs are allowed, on leashes, and you can reserve the pavillion in the main part of the park for...
Read moreThis park is a small hidden gem near the airport! It has tennis courts and a small field and plenty of eating areas. It also has two separate parts, a larger area with all the sports and a small area right on the water. Each part has its own playground with the bigger part having a much better playset. The benches around the playground for parents to sit are actually bench swings so that is a fun touch for the parents. The park is also lined with different exercise equipment with directions and health advice at each station. The bathrooms were super clean for a park and each section has a bathroom, not a horrible porta potty. The most recent time I went the woman's room in the main section of the park was out of order, but I'm sure that'll be fixed quickly.
This parked is tucked away and hidden, but it is one of my favorite parks in Orlando. Basically the only thing it's missing is a splash pad...
