Was a beautiful location for my wedding, but rigid policies on adding hours to my reception lost them $45-90 and lost us time to dance and have fun. The fact that you cannot start your event between 3p and 5p (due to ranger shift change) in the barn also effected this. It really was a great setting for our wedding, but if we could have started at 330pm or 4pm and gone until 9pm or 930pm instead of 8p, it would have been much better.

I had never visited this historical home and I am so glad I did. This home is pm the National Historic Landmarks and was a home used in the American Revolutionary War and the monumental Underground Railroad that hid slaves who were trying to escape their masters and reach free states that didn't have slavery. The pictures and furniture was authentic and well preserved and the tour was free, donations accepted.

It was very nice. Clean. A fully equipped kitchen. Only bad part the AC wasn't working. Yes it did have 2 air conditioning units in it but it wasn't enough to keep us cool. Yes I would use The Bissell Barn again once A.C. fixed.

A beautifully, well-decorated historic home of one of St Louis' founding families. This home was built by a man that served in the US Army during the Revolutionary War through the War of 1812 and retired as General. The tour was a wonderful story of early America and was worth the price and wait for our reservation. You need to make reservations in advance but it was...
