I’ll start off by saying I had a good time. Great for beginners, my husband and I had been wanting to go for some time and we did enjoy the experience. However I’ve been debating on whether or not I should write this review and I feel I should warn anyone who is not tiny before going. Let me start by saying I am well under the weight limit listed on the website. During the trail I was two horses in front of the man giving the tour, can’t remember his name, but I do remember how he made me feel. He was loudly talking to the woman behind me about how ā€œit’s good we have Helga (the horse I was riding) because all these ā€˜big’ people nowadays want to ride too.ā€ Along with some other discriminatory comments. Before the trail he asked us if we would mind riding the biggest horses there - which we didn’t, but I wasn’t really surprised about the latter comments because I knew what he was leading up to. Again - well under the weight limit so be careful before you make assumptions and lose business because you conducted yourself rudely and made your paying guests uncomfortable. I will definitely go elsewhere next time.

Edit* Personally, if I were running a business, I’d be a little bit embarassed about that response. I’m fully aware of how it was intended. Also, I am under the weight limit for many other trails in the area so I don’t think I’ll have...

This place was fantastic, and we will definitely be returning! We scheduled a 2 hour ride from 9-11, and we were running ten minutes late and FREAKING OUT. We thought they would leave without us and we would miss our whole experience, but when we arrived they were so sweet and let us know that they were about to call us to make sure we were able to find the place. Following that, they let us take our time to use the bathroom, gave us some water, and got us comfortable with our horses before the ride. Their direction was clear, and their love for the horses was evident. Also, everything was so clean! On top of all of that, we thought they would take time away from our ride as we were late to start, but no! They still took us on the whole two hour journey where we ducked through trees and walked/trotted through fields. The atmosphere was gorgeous and the commentary from staff along the ride was informative and entertaining. I have been on many horse riding experiences, however, this was by far the best. Excellent staff with so much love for their animals and the beautiful backwoods of Florida made for a unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and fun traverse through nature apart from the theme parks that traditionally...

I took a 90 minute ride while down visiting family. The experience was great. I was well matched with a horse for my skill level (not beginner not expert). Megan our guide was excellent. She knew and readily provided lots of information about both the horses and the trail system. I will be returning on future visits to the area. Horses are clearly well cared for and responsive. It was a walking ride but I would not consider it ā€œnose to tailā€ either.

Two reasons I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars (and would prefer to give it 4.5/5) First I had wanted to call and ask some questions before booking. I trail ride often and dislike greatly nose to tail experiences so I usually call ahead of a first visit. I was unable to find a good phone number. Second reason the cancellation policy is intimidating. I’ve gone trail riding a half dozen places up and down the east coast. I commonly find a 24 hour cancelation policy. I believe cactus jack requires 3 days advanced cancellation. The lack of a phone number only adds to my concern about the ability to contact someone if I had to cancel. These two factors almost had me choose a competitor (I am glad I didn’t). If these two items were addressed this is an easy 5...

Always a pleasure to visit the horses and have a beautiful, relaxing ride through the forest. The guides I have met are as respectful to the riders as they are to their horses. They give you instructions on how to handle the horse and are very patient with beginner riders. All of the horses are gentle and well loved. I have enjoyed every visit.

I selected this stable out of the plethora of local offerings, given the website indicated the majority of the horses were rescued. Once I arrived, I could see that love reigns here. While waiting for our ride to begin, I spent time doting on the horses. It was apparent that some were elderly and others were neglected in the past. However, they are now well-taken care of, as indicative of their appearances and gentle natures. The hands were considerate in selecting appropriate matches for the two-hour long tour, based on personality, experience, and size. I was fortunate enough to ride Dude, a spunky, middle-aged Arabian. We proved to be a perfect match. He would seize any possible opportunity to open up into a canter. However, if he became a bit too feisty, he politely obeyed my riding signals. (Which is a sign of proper training.) I will certainly return to Rock Springs Run Trail Rides for another adventure. I feel they strive to ensure these horses have a chance to enjoy a life that they may otherwise have missed out on, had they not be saved. That is enough reason for me to support this stable and its mission to provide enjoyable rising experiences for human and horse alike.
