I love Arroyo park as a launching off area to the greater Chuckanut Mountain trail system. It's not a typical park; no large grassy areas, bathrooms picnic tables etc. If you're looking for that kind of experience I'd suggest heading to Fairhaven Park back in Bellingham or Larrabee State Park just down Chuckanut Drive.
