Dutch Branch Park — Attraction in Benbrook

Used to go to this park as a kid. Now, as a parent I take my little boy there. He loves it! Lots of improvements over the years. They even just got done renovating it. Still has the giant robot with slides for arms. That was always fun. The ducks at the pond are quite social. Especially the one we call Ernie. Looks like turkey and duck hybrid. Wags his tail and will follow you around. My son loves that duck. Doesn't seem to be that crowded when we go. Well except one time when the (what I call) Children of the Crossfit showed up, worked out off to the side with there music, then came and used the playground for ways to workout. Bout 30 of them. Weird... Anyways, go and you and the family will have...

This place just gets worse after each visit! The facilities are run down and need to be updated. Also, why are the best camp spaces banned from reservations? The people like me that come out to camp several times a year are NEVER ALLOWD to reserve the best spaces! No, those spaces are held back so that the people who NEVER make the effort to plan a trip can just stroll in and get the best spots in the campground! I asked the attendant if I could reserve a space then, if the prime spot was available, cancel my reservation and get the better spot. He said YES... but I would also have to pay for the reserved spot!!! That is exactly the best way to treat your reliable, repeat...

Always love any park. Benbrook has a way of promoting the scenery..this park is really good.....while allowing developers to tear it up the scenery and then put house 2 centimeters apart..or apartments. Do come enjoy the park. This park has been here for decades and it is a nice open space with improvements. (That it unless a developer needs to put more houses on open spaces and decides to take out the merry go round) hint..city of benbrook...we don't need more houses shoved together that have no yards..nor do we need more apartments. We need more parks to go with the big lake that has been here for decades.
