Love the lake, 10 years ago.
I find it interesting that the demise of the lake started as Bentonville P&R took over. It was once the location of THE best Disc Golf courses in the state. It was however, miss managed and left into a complete disarray. And eventually removed completely by Bentonville P&R claiming no one was playing, it is a utter lie. Even if the grass was knee high and 6-7 holes wasn't maintained during a large part of the year, people were still playing. Working people that is, AFTER they had quit their job for the day. You know, those silly people paying taxes.
The HUGE brush of laciness they call "Wild life habitat" is actually a great way of saving money not having to pay for the upkeep. Who cares how it actually looks for the majority of the year, right? But what does this all matter, it's not like it's in Bentonville. Have a good look at the parks located in Bentonville and compare the upkeep to Lake Bella Vista, you'll see exactly what I mean.
There is a GREAT opportunity available here to the Bentonville P&R.
Fill in parts of the lake and make the park larger. Implement some additional walking trails and repair the bridge(s) to name a few things. Oh, and reinstall the Disc Golf course. There was a lot of people coming from out of state to play on that course. And it just seem odd to remove a course that good when it's the fastest growing sport in world. You could be a leading example on how to maintain and develop courses. Oh well, here is to hoping they will "see the light". If that's not happening, let's just hope Bella Vista claims the lake back into their hands and bring it back to it's former glory. I'm only giving it 3 stars due to miss management of such a great opportunity. Should be...
Read moreMy daughter and I have been saving up some bread past couple weeks. We had a walmart sack full that we were able to take to lake Bella Vista, located in Bella Vista, Arkansas, and we fed the ducks and geese. Surprisingly they were very friendly and didn't attack us like a few experiences I've had previously elsewhere though. They were definitely very pushy though lol and VERY hungry. My daughter and I loved it of course. We didn't have time to walk the full trail for her to play at the playground in the end but we did explore close to where we parked and she still got to play around anyways. The next day I heard rumors that the damn busted though' due to the massive amount of rain we had gotten for the past straight week. You can see the damn in couple of my...
