If it wasn't so far out of my way, I would go here all the time! I don't particularly care for Chinese food, it's usually too bland for me, I prefer Korean or Thai food because I like a little more spice and complexity of flavor. So for me to say that I actually really like a Chinese place and would willingly go back, that is a big deal. I don't know what it is about Northwest Arkansas, but honestly within the past decade, we have seen a veritable invasion of food trucks everywhere, and most of them are actually much better than what you would get in most of our local restaurants. This place is no exception. They also have invented crab rangoon fries, which is crab rangoon filling over really nice French fries with Chinese spices. It's sort of Chinese poutine...I guess? Anyway, whatever you call it, it's amazing. I'd say, even if the location is a little bit away from your normal drive, go out here anyway, because there's a lovely little roadside park with an amazing local coffee shop, and some other food trucks, including an Italian food truck - which is something I've never seen in this area before. We got a bunch of their garlic knots, which were also savory and delicious. So drive up there and make yourself a weird fusion meal by getting something from each of the food trucks, then go sit down in the coffee shop and trade...
Read moreTraveling south on US71 through Bella Vista you will come upon an interesting sight. Across from Lake Bella Vista you will see a gravel pull off with several large old houses and at this writing, three food trucks. In the middle position is Mai Chinese Food Trailer. While there is another Chinese restaurant in town Mai is certainly the more interesting option. While the menu isn’t large it is diverse with Hmong sausage, Thai, curries and Boba tea. There is a little deck with seating as well as tables under the trees across the parking lot.
I’m a foodie so I don’t gush over every establishment like some on Google but the food is good and the family is nice if you engage them. (They are busy and probably won’t initiate a conversation but are super friendly if you do)
The area was / is an Artist Retreat and has a new life with food trucks, a flower shop and new soon to open coffee shop. There are numerous hidden gems in Bella Vista for food, crafts, architecture and nature making this a great place for some family time on...
Read moreWe had stopped coming here because the food is inconsistent and the spice level of medium changes each time. Sometimes it's medium sometimes it hurts as they just dump clumps of chili oil on top. The chicken is often dry in at least one of our orders so we stopped going. Last night we thought we would give it another chance. We don't eat out very often so it's always a treat. I called in my order, had it repeated back to me just to find that the order was wrong when it got home. We called to let them know out of courtesy as I would want to know if it were my restaurant. The person we spoke to essentially told us that I was wrong and lied and had ordered something else. I wasn't asking for a refund just nicely letting them know there was a mix up. However the courtesy was not returned and...
