I have been going to this place for over 40 years, and have enjoyed many wonderful nights of music and dancing there. The large wooden dance floor and rustic structure make this an ideal venue for folk dancing and "down home" live music, like Zydeco, blues, and bluegrass. But over the years, there has been every different kind of music at Ashkenaz. Each genre brings its own group of devoted fans. I have been attending events and working with Ashkenaz for almost 3 years now, and it has been such a great and positive experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The space itself is spacious and has helped to bring new people to experience different forms of dance and music! I recommend for folks to check out the bachatanightz event (every 1st Thursday of the month) and the Rico Fridays event (every 3rd Thursday of the month).
