Brazilian Room — Attraction in Berkeley

Our friends' daughter just had her late afternoon wedding ceremony and reception dinner at the Brazilian Room. The building is beautiful inside and out. We sat outside and faced the valley and wooded hills beyond the couple as they made their vows. The view was stunning but not distracting. The garden area around the entrance was very pretty and elegant. The catering was exceptional. The appetizers were tasty and interesting, as the main course. The table setting was lovely and classy. The catering staff was pleasant and attentive. The large windows on the side of the dining hall brought in a lot of natural light and continued the connection with the outdoors and that wonderful view of the forest. The day was warm and sunny so those who wore hats and brought something to fan themselves with during the ceremony were glad they brought them. We asked the wedding staff if any of their dishes had nuts. They checked with the chef and said only the salad did and made plans to give my 6 year old something else. Their flatbread had cashews, which the chef told me later when my daughter started having an allergic reaction. I gave her an epipen and we took her to the emergency room, which is where we are now.

The chef did not know what he was serving and now we are at the e.r. My daughter will be fine but she was terrified. This venue is awful, and the chef incompetent. Do not get married here. Do not attend this venue as a guest.

We are having our wedding here and having Cafe Soleil cater the event. I'm here at our tasting and getting my taste buds blown into the back of my head! This food is so good I can't stop eating. Jennifer keeps feeding me and ever plate is amazing! I don't like fish, call my mom and ask her. I ate every morsel of the salmon on my plate, it was that good. Seriously, book Cafe Soleil...
