Grizzly Peak Vista Point — Attraction in Berkeley

This spot is a great little area to go enjoy a view and have a relaxing meal or something. The parking lot is usually empty and it has a fantastic view of Oakland and a large portion of the Bay. You can even see Golden Gate Bridge from here depending on the level of fog. I've gone 4 times and seen Golden Gate only once, but it is possible. It's absolutely my most favorite scenic hilltop viewpoint in the Bay Area. It overlooks the UC Berkeley campus, Berkeley city, and you can see as far as Oakland, San Francisco, and Marin County from here.

There is a parling lot with free parking woth great views. But for the absolute best view, I recommend doing this very short hike (only a few minutes from the parking lot) along the hillside just west of the Lawrence Hall building. I'll let my photos...

Great view of the bay and the bridge, and we even managed to find parking - maybe because it was Sunday night.
