The air museaum, aircraft inside and outside were fantastic. Beth and I loved the B25 inside with the WW2 Navy Bomber! Our guide was very knowledgeable and polite and pleasant. We will be back for WW2 weekend. Our only problem was with the man at the counter where you purchase the membership and tickets. I will not call him a gentleman, far from it. When you enter there is a sign saying DO not let the cat out. Beth, who has a Yorkie service dog with vest stating service dog went into the other part of the bldg to look at pictures with Conshy the service dog . The cat came on and went after Conshy. The cat was bigger than Conshy went after Conshy. Cat a dog screeching. Beth picked up Conshy to avoid a fight. The man behind the cat told Beth and I OUT! OUT! rather angry. Beth told him your cat attacked my dog, and the man still angry told us both OUT! I am a USMARINE Veteran, showed him my Military ID when we 1st entered. No matter. Clearly this man, who in the eye of the public is rude and needs a lesson in manners and courtesy and customer service. Not pleased with him at all. Otherwise, everyone else exceptional! Your cat needs...
Read moreThis is a great air museum with fully functional and flying aircraft! They were originally created to salvage and restore a P-61 Black Widow that had crashed during WWII, but now has a vast collection of aircraft from all eras of flight.
Their big yearly event falls on the weekend of, or right after, June 6th. This is known as the Mid Atlantic Air Museum World War II Weekend. That weekend, purposely falling as close as possible to the anniversary of D-Day, is always an extremely popular event that draws tens of thousands of spectators who come to view the WWII era aircraft. But its not just the aircraft that belong to the museum for this air show- there's dozens of planes that fly in from around the country, just for this event. They have hundreds of WWII reenactors on hand, from all sides (American, German, Japanese, British, etc) as well as authentic WWII vehicles- M4 Shermans, a Jagdpanzer IV, American and German halftracks, Jeeps galore, Kubelwagons, and more!
Support the museum's mission, and vist during the year, or go out during the amazing WWII Weekend- it's...
Read moreI've visited ther MAAM both during and not during the WWII show.
Focus is mostly on the WWII show. I've been to several WWII shows, but for the PA/Northeast area it's VERY hard to beat!
40's era shows! Andrew Sisters, Abbot & Costello, Big Band and MORE ... then all the VIP guests signing books and memorabilia! Then the encampments (US, Russia, China, Britain and Germany). The aircraft (Trainers, Fighters, Bombers, Transports).
I hear people complain about the entry price ... but that price gets you FREE parking, FREE transportation to the show, ALL the displays and shows they offer!!!!! There are so many things to look at, people to meet, shows to watch! I think it's a great value!
The one thing I didn't like and probably not under control of the show, FOOD PRICES! Some vendors did have reasonable prices, some NOT! I of course expect some higher prices, what else is new, but some meals were very high priced, but I guess it's up to buyer to pay it or not ... still, it rubs me wrong it's even offered at the higher prices.
There's LOTS to check out if you were...
