Indiana Dunes National Park Lakeview — Attraction in Beverly Shores

It's a nice little place to take a break, stretch your legs. The beach is closed off but that's fine. It's got nice benches and a little covered area.

My only complaint is that as it gets dark earlier, after like 4pm it's pitch black there. There are light posts but they aren't on by the time it's dark. Considering sundown is currently 4:30pm and they're open till 11pm, they should really consider turning on some lights.

This is my favorite part of the dunes….. usually the last part to get too full, I’ve been going here since I was about 10 (there was a lot more beach back then!). Love that there’s a restroom and views of the beach/lake from above, and picnic tables to enjoy a meal. It’s just a bummer that it’s no longer free since they made it a national park. Main large parking lot from HW 49 is a $7.00 all day parking for a car... But your can​ take HW 49 to rd.2 making a left turn off HW 49 then turn right under the bridge, stay on Rd. 2 for about 5 minutes, turn left to the dunes... Few free parkings ahead....one on the right hand side, or you can go closer to the lake Michigan ...drive alongside the lake where you can choose out of 3 parking sports: one to the right and two on the left hand side right very near the beach!
