We took a drive around the lake and ended up at this point just past Fawnskin and it's just beautiful. There was still some snow and kids were able to slide down small slopes near road.

Grout Bay in Fawnskin on the other side of Big Bear Lake is a beautiful little place to take in if you're just beginning to take in nature. My wife and I cautiously made our way down near to muddy marsh and discovered some animal paw prints in the mud. Could have been a dog or coyote. Also stumbled upon what looked like deer/fawn hoof prints. Glad we were able to see these before...

Very peaceful. Huge temperature difference between the picnic area and the lake's shoreline. Bring a sweater. The area has bathrooms...
