This is a short and sweet loop trail. You will cross a creek in several places on bridges, and one crossing on rocks. With the short length and very small amount of elevation change along the trail, I’d usually say it is an “easy” hike. However, there are many roots and rocks that make the ground uneven and there are several creek crossings that made the trail more difficult for the inexperienced hikers in our group. We went in November and saw lots of ferns, moss, and mushrooms.

Cosby Nature Trail is an easy trail for a casual walk. There is so much of nature to see on the trail. If you are less confident on your feet, watch for roots coming up from the ground. The bridges along Cosby Nature Trail are neat. No dogs are allowed, yet this is a peaceful place to gangan through the forest with family and friends.

A short little hike in the Cosby section of the GSMNP. If you are hiking (and not camping) you will have to park in a lower lot and walk about a quarter mile of the Lower Gap Trail before it connects with the Nature Trail. It is a fun trail with numerous water crossings. There are plenty of photo opportunities! There are lots of rocks and roots, which can be fun or troublesome, depending on the type of hike you are...

This is a place where all ages can enjoy. Not exactly flatt terrain, but not to many ups and downs. There is a lot of water crossing along the way. Most of them have those classic log bridges that you will find throughout the park. I love those bridges. There is lots of parking around to. Dont foget to get your parking pass. This small amount helps the park...
