Riverside Church: Big Lake Campus — Attraction in Big Lake Township

I love this Church! It has changed my family’s life for the better. I am so grateful and happy that I stopped in to "check out" this church several years ago on one Sunday morning. Just driving into the church parking lot, I was greeted by the smiles of the parking lot attendants. Then walking towards one of the entrances I was greeted by someone who opened the door for me and welcomed me in. I saw so many smiley faces everywhere and found myself not feeling awkward or out of place at all. I felt like people were happy to see me there. As I made my way into the sanctuary I was amazed at the worship music. There are so many talented singers and so many different kinds of musical instruments played. The music is contemporary and very easy to sing a long to as the words are displayed on screens. The church uses various ways of engaging the audience by showing a short video or sometimes even having someone share a testimonial. Then Pastor Tom Lundeen begins his sermons which by the way are always so amazing! Even if you do not have a background of biblical understanding, the sermons are taught in ways that are easy to follow along and understand. The Church also has children ministry programs which my daughter who is in 4th grade attends and I have to say I am in awe at how much she has learned and how that has made her life better as well. She has grown into not only learning about God but wanting to have a personal relationship with God. She has even decided to get baptized next month! I have watched her share the word of God with her friends who were unbelievers and she even most recently was asked by one of her fellow classmates how they could accept Jesus into their life. Riverside Church has been incredible for our entire family! Each one of us has grown spiritually in significant ways as we learn during each service and activity. The programming for kids is outstanding! They make it fun for them to learn about God and what it means to be a Christian in ways that they understand (from preschool through high school years). And they provide the parents with resources to continue the learning from home. There are so many activities and classes offered for every age that connect people in the church. My family and I have been attending Riverside Church since October of 2014. We decided to visit this church as we heard so many great things about it! The pastors and staff, worship music, messages and children’s ministry is amazing, to list a few things we love! Riverside has changed our lives. My husband and I asked Christ into our hearts in December 2014 and were baptized that following summer.
