Would rate this 5 starts but I really didn’t like the staffs attitudes. They never said hi welcome in or can I help you. The place is beautiful and this is my first time here. We did the terrariums and everywhere there are prices except nowhere does it state that you have to pay for the fillers, or the moss or soil that goes in there. They’re were clearly running out of the materials the soil was so dry.. really shouldn’t be planting with that soil. Their prices are insanely out of control. The prices just don’t make sense.. there’s a decent sized jar for $4 then another one that’s the same size for $20 with less sturdy glass. Then there’s a tiny one for an air plant the size of my pinky for nearly $7. We also didn’t know they were getting ready to close and instead of telling us they just started taking all the plants away then they turned off the lights and proceeded to lock people outside.. it doesn’t hurt to...
Read moreWhen our niece came in to town, I brought her here to do the build-your-own-terrarium, but they had it temporarily closed for painting. It had just rained so we walked all around, taking in all the scents of freshly rained on flowers and trees. She asked when the terrarium center would be back open and they said it would be another couple of hours, so they offered to set us up in the "Employees Only" work area to make our terrariums. We didn't want to be an imposition, so we respectfully declined. But they were so welcoming that they set up everything we would need in their employee area and insisted that we were no imposition at all. We accepted, and they engaged with us as we made them, told us how to take care of all these beautiful little succulents, and really made us feel as if we were no imposition at all. I have never experienced this kind of customer service anywhere. Absolutely the best staff, and a happy...

My kids had a blast searching for hidden gnomes around the grounds and loved building their own terrariums — such a fun, hands-on experience that kept them totally engaged. I loved how there was truly something for everyone. The selection of plants is beautiful and well cared for, and Black Dog Coffee on-site is delicious — we enjoyed relaxing on the patio together over drinks.
A super cool and unexpected surprise was the vinyl section — such a unique twist that makes this place even more special. It’s also a perfect spot to find birthday gifts or little treasures — so many thoughtful, locally-minded items.
Roots isn’t just a garden center — it’s a community space, and we’re lucky to have it....
