I visited your establishment 4/12/25. It was beautiful and had a great experience except for the gentleman who spoke very rude to us when leaving. At the beginning of the course we noticed a large red chair and people taking photos sitting in it. Deciding to wait until the end we moved on through the course and, upon leaving, decided to take pictures or attempt to take pictures by getting in the large red chair. There was a gentleman who started yelling “down” as soon as we realized it wasn’t something we should not do we stopped and walked away. The gentleman walked over to us and said “have some common sense” I decided to have a short conversation with this gentleman who then stated he had a brain injury and wanted to keep us from getting a brain injury…while this is appreciated to some extent the manner in which he chose to speak to me and my family was the problem. Effective communication was not practiced and I stated this to the gentleman. Speaking kindly or effectively goes a long way and unfortunately this wasn’t what this gentleman chose. He stated he was “40 feet away” and the only choice he had was to yell at people. He also stated that “they was supposed to get a sign up soon” I explained to him I understood he was in a difficult position but it’s all about how you speak to people. I wish I could state his name. I apologize for not being able to provide that information as I gladly would but the shock of being spoken to like an idiot since we didn’t think we were doing anything wrong, far outweighed catching his name. He was an older gentleman who I assume was course Marshall. I honestly do not care what you all choose to do as I will never be back as I know my opinions will not hurt your profits in anyway. Just very angry and wanted to let you know someone you employed is speaking to patrons in this manner and it isn’t appreciated at...
Read moreIf I could give it 0 stars I would. I have had absolutely no problem at all booking tee times in advance at other golf courses, around the country, over the last 4 years. From PGA tour host courses to local municipal courses, I either visit in person or call on the phone and 100% of the time I am taken care of. This is not the case with the Robert Trent Jones Golf Train. I called the golf shop to setup a tee time for later this month, not even that far out, for 11 of my friends and I to play. I was directed to the main office where the woman sounded intoxicated and was the opposite of helpful. First of all, the variable pricing that is clearly set on the system during the week, doesnt apply to advance booked tee times?? That's ridiculous. Then the only option I was given was to book 7 days in advance of my annual trip online, WHICH I CANNOT DO SINCE THE ONLINE SYSTEM ONLY ALLOWS FOR A PERSON TO BOOK 4 PLAYERS ONLINE. For bland, overpriced, overbooked golf, it is unbelievable how poorly operated this company is. If I wasn't being treated so tremendously by the other courses in the area I would give up on booking the rounds here, but with it being an Alabama staple, my out of town friends still want to give it a shot...Glad that once our trip is over I can go back to giving my money to much better golf courses and companies in the greater...
Read morePlayed the Ridge Course for the first time. My suggestion is don't play here in November. First off the greens were recently aerated with the large hole plugs and then sanded, which meant that you had little control over where your putt went. Showed up about an hour and fifteen minutes ahead of TT only to find that driving range is closed!! Pro shop guy says "all RTJ courses close the ranges on Tues for maintenance". Would be nice if you mentioned that to customers who are paying good money to play your courses. We paid full price to play despite having to putt on lousy greens and deal with over seeding issues as well as major course renovations on many bunkers. How about discounting the fees when course conditions are not up to standards. Another issue at this time of year is over seeding which has only partly grown in, so fairways are hit or miss. Overall not a pleasant experience due to lack of advance notice by those in charge regarding course conditions. Some people travel a long way to play RTJ courses, would be nice if management/staff would be more forthcoming regarding condition of courses and notice of parts of course that may not be available (practice...
