Our first visit to Rooted in Red was for the Farm to Fork dinner, advertised as locally grown and cooked, Thanksgiving type fare to celebrate the harvest. The venue is absolutely beautiful. Everything one would hope. Beautiful table settings, seating vignettes, the door open to outside fireside seating with views of the marsh. When dinner came, it was a plain turkey dinner buffet from a food truck. Plain turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, canned gravy and corn and tiny rolls. Even the cranberry sauce felt canned/purchased. No butter for the rolls, no salt and pepper. Not at all what we expected for a 65$/person meal. A harvest dinner, fork to table, for that price should have been real food. We felt like we were getting a school or foodservice quality turkey dinner. No seasoning on the turkey. No fresh herbs. No roasted veg, no squash. The dessert was a half piece of pie (also felt purchased). And we had to purchase all of our drinks (cranberry juice was included.) We felt very deceived by the advertising and were extremely disappointed at the quality of food. We will go back for music, but probably never for one of these dinners. As a foodie and former restaurant owner I thought (and hoped) this would be the first of many dinners I would enjoy there. I was so excited too see something like this come to central Wisconsin. But I...

My wife and I were in town for an annual pastors and spouses retreat. We stopped in during some free time to check this place out. I’ve wanted to visit a cranberry farm ever since we moved to Wisconsin and finally had the opportunity.

We stopped into the farm store and loved all of the local items on display. We asked about the immersion experience and learned they had been filled up, but just had two people cancel. They took us out into the fields on a tractor with beautiful views all around. Once to a fiend that was currently flooded and being worked we got out, put on some hip waders, and got into the water with the berries.

We learned a lot about cranberry farming, and the people working there were very welcoming and happy to tell us about their passion for this little bouncing berry. We stopped back at the gift shop to make a couple of purchases, and then sat outside by one of the fire pits for a while before heading back to our hotel.

Thank you for a great time! We’ll be back soon with...

A must do during harvest season in Wisconsin! Your one hour reservation is worth every penny and becomes your own personal unforgettable experience. You are greeted with complimentary coffee and cider and have time to take in the breathtaking views. Your wagon ride is short, but beautiful and takes you to a beautiful, colorful bed of cranberries for your personal photo shoot with a professional photographer and someone to take your cellphone photos. They do such a good job of making you feel special and ensure that your photos turn out great. Come prepared with pose and video ideas; they will gladly snap whatever you want. I suggest golden hour about 2 hours before sunset for some amazing lighting. No matter the weather or time of day, this experience is worthwhile, unique, and unforgettable. It’s great for all ages and I will come back every...

My cousin had visited Rooted in Red a few years ago but had only stopped by and did not get the ‘whole’ immersion experience! This year she took me along with the intention of accomplishing that goal. Indeed we did! Donning waders with suspenders, we tiptoed into a bog surrounded by millions of floating berries. A pristine farm run by the grand daughter, Jamie, whose grandparents were the originators of this space. Approximately 120 acres of red… simply spectacular. A wagon takes you to the fields and on the way, Jamie gives you a rundown of the family name and farm. Now also a wedding venue, please come and enjoy this unique event space and farm. You’ll learn some amazing facts about the state of Wisconsin as well!!!

Rooted In Red is a true millennial mood! Being a transplant from larger cities we were pleasantly surprised to find such a trendy spot in Central Wisconsin. Their store front is very reminiscent to a boutique shop you would find in a major city. The wagon ride of their family run cranberry farm was informative and modern. Their attention to detail with branding is impeccable. The outside loo was even branded thanking patrons. Plus, they have events like their "Live music, cocktails, and food trucks." The event was incredibly good vibes. So thoughtful to have individual fire pits. Highly recommend and can't wait to visit again.
