Mandan Village Historic Site — Attraction in Bismarck

Access to the Slant Indian Village site is located behind the main visitor center at Fort Lincoln. Visiting the site and reading about the Native American history is fascinating. Although the site is small compared to the Knife River Village further north, a stop here is worth your time as the displays are different. The visitor center has a large exhibit covering the Village, the forts, and the history of the area.

You can get a tour guide but there's enough literature to explore this place on your own. Some of the earthlodges were sealed when we went, but most were still open.
