We traveled from Zanesville, OH (about 6 or so hours) to visit this rink. My family owns a roller rink, and we were interested in this one due to the "roll bounce" use. Upon arrival, we paid $37 for the 5 of us. We received tickets and entered. When we entered, a second employee, apart from the one who sold the tickets, took the tickets and we sat down to put on our skates, since we all had our own. After a few times around the floor, a woman who we had not yet seen came out to let us know that my boyfriends 5 yr old could not be on the floor as it was 13+ night. I explained to her we traveled a long way to skate here, she said "sorry, but that's the rule". As I'm explaining this his 5 yr old daughter begins to cry. Never offered us the 7.50 we paid for a child who wasn't even allowed to skate. When we asked why neither of her employees told us this as we were entering, she said the ticket salesman did. Which he did NOT, and furthermore she wouldn't have known, because she was nowhere to be seen. As stated, my parents own a roller rink. Never would a situation be handled like this by my parents. I understand the night was fast paced, and the issue is not with the policy as much as it is with the facts: A. the policy was not on the facebook schedule or door B. the employees allowed us to come in and begin to skate C. a child should never be made to feel they are in the wrong when they're not and the BUSINESS IS. D. we weren't even offered the money back for those of us who had to leave with her, OR HER WHO WE WERE WRONGFULLY charged for. E. the management here is clearly lacking in people skills
SO, unless you're kidless and interested in the movie set of roll bounce, I wouldn't waste my time. I would like to add however, that whoever was working as the floor guard, was excellent. He came to let us know she could skate for a while, and even bought her candy. Maybe he should run this...

they have a policy where beginner skaters need to be on the INSIDE portion of the rink and not on the outside, which creates an extremely dangerous situation. not only are they not allowed to use the walls, but to get off the rink they have to weave their way through fast moving crowds trying to not get hit. not a good idea, beginners belong on the outside and people doing tricks belong on the inside where they can use the open space in the center. i have NEVER seen any rink do this. iām an experienced skater and the beginners scattered through with the people doing tricks in huge crowds resulted in me being ran into and knocked over. i also witnessed a 40 year old man doing waltz jumps land his jump practically on a 13 year old girl, knocking her completely over onto the floor, on her back, in front of a moving crowd! the rink supervisors did nothing!
the music is loud which is fine, but the sound system is so bad you can barely hear the songs and instead just hear the loud back beats which is awful and you have to shout to be heard. if you want loud music, get a better sound system so itās actually loud music and not just noise!!!
Finally, the snack bar advertises milk shakes but the machine is broken. LAME.
In conclusion, i will continue to support the rink due to it being one of the last around and being a fun thing to do, but the safety aspect is not good. they allow way too many people on the rink at once, put beginner skaters in jeopardy which puts us experienced skaters in jeopardy, and the āmusicā is too loud to even shout a quick...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited last week for the skating lessons with my children. I explained it was our first time and I was not given any formal information from the staff on rules/expectations. My 3 year old daughter fell and hurt herself and was crying tears while struggling to get up. I kept waiving to the instructor asking her to bring her to the side. (I didnāt have on skates and most rinks donāt want shoes on the floor. I also had an infant I was carrying.) I got louder because I assumed the instructor didnāt hear me, but she looked directly in my face and never said a single word to me. She purposely ignored me trying to get help for my child. She eventually waived for other children to assist my daughter and another mom who frequents the location ran out there to grab her for me. This really left a bad taste in my mouth. My children have participated in every sport you can think of and Iāve never experienced them getting hurt and receiving 0 aid from the adult in charge. She didnāt even go to check on her or try to assist her up off the floor. A different employee got my daughter an ice pack after she was off the floor. I asked questions regarding expectations on my way out because I felt really unsettled and I wasnāt provided much information other than they donāt think the instructor ignored us on purpose and thereās usually more instructors there during the lessons. I felt completely disregarded and disrespected by the lack of care and concern they had...
