Shelter #3 was a great place for our mid-size congregation picnic. It's not brand new but the large restrooms are very well maintained. The oversize tables under the roofed shelter are quite new, painted metal. A volleyball pit is in front, a small kids play area another 40 yards away. Shelter is wheel chair accessible, however the path/ramp zigzags up the incline hill that protects the shelter from westerly winds. A beautiful beach is within walking distance 1/10 mile opposite the ample-sized parking lot (it has new sealant) - which has an admission gate but was open/free on our weekend before Memorial D. Read moreJust because this lake isn't much of a swimming lake, doesn't mean it doesn't deserve at least four stars. It has access on two sides of the lake, perfect for paddleboarding, especially if you want to enter on different sides depending on the wind direction. The beach is always clean & pretty chill, no loud obnoxious people, it's clean and sandy. There is a separate paddleboard or other non motorized loading area to the left of the boat launch which is nice so it doesn't get crowded at the boat launch. It's a great lake for mellow...

Then I saw a school of small fish in the swimming area, and another woman got bit too…. Besides getting attacked by schools of small fish, the water is clear, it is very inviting looking to swim!
