Plenty of room to have space even while crowded. $7 to get in $9 for non residential. The sand is pretty rocky, but that's normal for Indiana soil. Just don't expect Florida sand. They have roped off designated swimming areas and a bathroom that's in walking distance. Plenty of parking and a ramp to roll your coolera down. Signs say no alcohol permitted, but saw plenty being responsible with no one to stop them.

Our family loves this lake. We make it a tradition to visit at least once a year. The swimming area is a nice size with plenty of space to sit, picnic, tan, and swim.. Some shadey areas are available. I love that there is a working restroom and showers within walking distance. The park by the swimming area could benefit from an update. Downtown Bloomington is about 20 minutes away.

Compared to the beach at Deam Lake, this is disappointing. Only 8 picnic tables clustered under one shelter. One tree you can sit under to watch swimmers and it's 60' away from the beach. Swimming area is small. Concessions are open only Saturday and Sunday. That said, it's all sandy and not crowded so kids are having fun anyway.

So pretty, and the lake is huge. There was no huge wait line and the beach wasn't too crowded. Two problems though. The first one is the bathrooms. Thankfully there are modernish amenities, but none of the doors have working locks and a lot of the walls and doors plus parts of the floor were chipped or leaning. The second one is that there was no lifeguard keeping the rules. Kids were going over the rope line in the water and running all around splashing adults and other kids. Though this is at no fault of the beach, it would still be nice to have a lifeguard to keep the peace and make sure no one was drinking beer on the beach (which there were a couple). Otherwise great...

I love the lakeview from the shelter we stayed at, one thing I didn't like is that they don't do reservation on that particular shelter( Fairfax Beach Shelter) we arrived early as I was told it's a first come first served but throughout the day we had different people asking for us to share the shelter and the grill which was sort of uncomfortable due to the fact that we needed all tables and of course the grill. I would recommend the park to consider making reservations to avoid having visitors feel compromised to share the shleter since it's free of charge. Other than that we...

It was my family's first time here, we packed up the dogs and drove over an hour to get here from Indianapolis after being unable to even enter Eagle Creek for the lines. We spent another hour trying to navigate because there are no other navigation signs than the 'You Are Here' upon arrival to a particular area. After finally arriving we're told the beach is closed because it has flooded. I have never heard of a beach flooding before, but I checked every single website and read every faq, rules, guidelines and never say anything about the beach...
