Windjammer Grill - Lake Monroe — Restaurant in Indiana

First night was okay. The pretzel was hot and tasty. The pizza was okay. The coconut shrimp was burnt. Second night I was hangry for a tenderloin sandwich and I remembered it being on the menu so I tried to order one. They said the menu was limited and didn't have any. So I figured I would try the burger instead. NO BURGERS EITHER. Labor day weekend and all they had was pizza and wings! REALLY??? Who does that on a busy Labor Day weekend??? Then surprise number 2 the ice machine didn't work! What hotel has ice machines that don't work? REALLY?? As much as everything costs you would think they would at least clean some of the spider webs out of the rooms but no they didn't. The rooms all smell mildewy and stuffy. The sheets didn't fit the bed. The best part of our stay was being out on the super expensive fishing boat rental AWAY from the hotel room. Sleeping here and trying to eat here is a nightmare. I gave this place a 2nd chance. Really wish I hadn't. Our first visit was last Father's Day. Beautiful view. We were about to leave, and I had asked for a refill on water. For some reason a staff member left the pitcher of water on the table that they had filled my drink up about 3 times with. It was full of mold. I had been drinking moldy water, and so was my family. So today, another Father's Day lunch. I felt bad for the waitress. 9 tables, all by herself. Food was good...but my daughter showed me her knife that was rolled up as clean silverware...and it was filthy. My daughter had already had salad, and ate off of the fork that was touching this knife. I told our server, she was apologetic, but it wasn't her fault. I said whoever rolled this silverware must have closed their eyes while doing so. Gross! I am trying to post a photo of the knife, but not sure if there is...

Good grief this place is frustrating! The food is always just "OK". Largest lake in Indiana and there's one restaurant on it, so it is what it is. The last 2 times we've tried to dine here they've been shut-down, contrary to their posted hours online. Today we even vmcalled 30 minutes ahead to confirm that they'd be open today. Boat across the lake, hoof it up the mile long hill with 2 kids-CLOSED! The handwritten note on the door said "unexpected equipment failure". Does that stuff happen? Probably, but they need to get their a t together or get a new tenant that can wither maintain the equipment properly or work-around such issues. Would be even more frustrating if you were trying to stay in the subpar hotel and the one restaurant on property was...
