I had such a good time here! I think this zoo is the perfect size, everything is super close together so you don't have to walk forever to get to a specific section. For a zoo on the smaller side, I didn't expect it to have such cool animals, but there were red pandas, flamingos, otters, a tiger, and so many others! You can get super close to some of the animals because the fences are right where they hang out in their areas. We got to pet a goat (it might have been a different animal, I'm not sure) because it came right up to the fence at the petting zoo. I'd say we waited between 3 and 5 minutes, only because there were a few families in front of us, but it took less than a minute when it was our turn. Overall, it was a great experience and I definitely recommend going there if you are passing through or just looking for something to do for an hour or two.

Visiting from Chicago area for the weekend. Had no idea that Bloomington Normal had an AZA accredited zoo; Was very pleasantly surprised that they did. $6.50 admission plus a small donation was well worth the time we had. Our favorite animals were the flamingos (right when you walk in) and the wallabies in the Wallaby Walkabout. Throughout the zoo I was excited by just how close they let you get to some of the animals. When compared to some of the larger zoos, Miller Park has a smaller selection of animals, but what they did have were well presented in nice enclosures that you could get close to. After this visit I might prefer smaller accredited zoos such as this to the larger ones. But regardless, this is a great zoo absolutely worth visiting next time you're in the area or passing through and want a fun 1-2 hour experience! We'll be back soon!

This was a cute, on-the-smaller-side kind of zoo, but it was a great size for our 2 year old. There were 2 events going on: the beginning stage of a chalk drawing competition and that was pretty neat to see competitors drawing throughout the zoo. The second event was an endangered species game where you write down any animals that have an endangered animal poster hanging up nearby and you get a prize for turning them all in. It was a fun and easy extra interaction to do with our toddler. The downside to the chalk drawing competition was that some of the pads were blocked and at times, walkways were getting congested while trying to walk around and avoid stepping on the drawings as they were being drawn. They had a really cute carousel that was closed for the season as they do some much-needed repairs, but it was still a bummer our son couldn't ride it. Despite the scorching heat (upwards of 90°), most animals were still out and visible! Only 4 or so exhibits were empty. We had a wagon we were rolling around with us and all together, saw the entire zoo and probably about an hour and a half. It was pretty well kept and clean, so that's always a plus. We drove from over an hour away to check this zoo out, but we likely will only come back if they have a major event like specialized classes, Halloween party, etc. There was a decent variety of animals for a zoo of this size, but we live too far away to justify making the drive when we have other zoos available that are closer to where we live.

Despite being really small, I really enjoyed coming here. I was one of 3 guests in the entire area, and it was awesome. The weather was chilly, so a number of the animals were just hanging out vs being mobile. It was cool to see the bald eagle hopping around. I also enjoyed watching the otters play in the water. The Guanaco was very interested in people and loved coming close to the fence. The wallabies looked cold on the wallaby walk, but it was super cool to be able to get so close without a fence. I was bummed I couldn't see the big cats, but I understand given COVID. Some of the exhibits seemed like they could have used some extra vegetation, the red wolf especially. The indoor exhibits for the small animals appeared very well done. I don't know if I will ever be in town again, but if I had a chance to bring the kids, I certainly would.

All of the 1 to 3 out of 5 star reviews are not cutting it. This is a very reasonable priced zoo. That being said, it's close to the Bloomington area and it's great having something so fun and cheap to do on bored days! It has a lot of animals, and even a new alligator exhibit coming soon! It's on the smaller side, but that doesnt matter! Its awesome! I loved it. They have a photo booth for $5.00, gift shoppe, a carousel for 1.75 and various feeding stations for goats and ducks for .50 cents each. Again, I loved the zoo. Alot of people said the park next to it is AWESOME, we didnt have time to go to it, but we will next time! :) and the animals were out and about. It wasnt lame, we saw alot of every animal. The flamingos we were able to get very up close and personal with and I loved that!

This is a small zoo but we had a great time here! BEWARE: this turkey jumps out of its fence and wanders around as the zookeeper said. I think it's name was Tom. It's harmless and very beautiful to see up close and brought a lot of excitement for sure! Other highlights: We witnessed Raja the tiger roar. The meerkat was awfully cute. These two monkeys were really playing and having a great time! We also saw some animals very upclose which was different because at the Brookfield Zoo, they seem to hide in the back a lot. :)
