I ENJOY RAVEN ROCKS ! Theres lots of rocks to climb on, if you dare & lots of nice rock formations to fill your facebook page with selfies. Theres a STEEP pathway down into the rocks on the parkway-north end beyond the end parking space, with more selfie spots below

B E W A R E 1 MISSED STEP & YOU'RE GONE

while i was there today i heard a LOUD train whistle. im guessing it was coming from TWEETSIE RAILROAD

as you gaze off into the sunset vista sorry folks, thats not tablerock mountain to the right of grandfather. . . . . thats SUGARTOP (see blue circle) a 10-story mountaintop monstrosity that has turned Sugar Mt (5000') & the Grandfather Mountain (5943') panorama into a western nc eyesore since 1983 (as you get closer...

The view was nice but there are no trails and only rocky mountain tops that go straight down. If it comes up on your hike trail searches this is NOT the place for you. It's designed for drivers to have somewhere to pull over so they can view the mountains for a minute and move on with their travels. And. I found a bit of trash around there. Not sure if anyone comes up to clean the bottle caps or anything else people drob there. Found some broken glass. Watch your little paws that walk...

This is a worthwhile spot to visit. Bring wine and cheese or something equally as compact so you can sit and enjoy sunset with your sweetheart.

On our visit, we took engagement photos of a couple whose wedding we'll photograph next year; My wife owns Neubek Photographers in Naples, FL. They chose this spot for photos because this is where he proposed. While there, there was also a girl having some senior portraits shot.

In short, there aren't many reasons NOT to stop here.
