If you only have time for one horse farm tour in Lexington, this should be it! The basic tour includes the stud farm, the nursery (mares with their foals), and the yearling barn. We were allowed to pet the horses at the nursery and yearling farms. We even had the added surprise of seeing California Chrome and some of his offspring! Our guide, Carly, was fabulous! The best Horse Country Tour! Carli is excellent, she makes the tour unique and special for you. TM employees really care about your experience, from Carli to the staff in the barns that care for the horses, vets, to the couple in the golf/tour shop grill that make your lunch are all so good to the visitors on the tour. Beautiful farm with elite horses. The staff is very informative. They strive to explain the breeding operation and state what makes such stallions as Dr Schivel and Knicks Go so special. I didn’t know that the dam of Tacotius’ dam is the fabulous Closed Hatches. I’d been to TM a lot to see California Chrome and Duncan and his staff exhibited more courtesy than any of the dozens of farms I’ve visited. I’m delighted they’ve grown so much again as a stud farm.
