We stumbled upon Schartner Farm quite by accident. It's ~5 min drive off the main road, but worth the excursion. Unlike many apple picking experiences, this has a more subtle and country feel to it. Apple picking costs were $12 for a peck (bag that fits ~16 apples), and 1/2 Bushel bag for $22. The Corn Maze is $10 for Adults and $7 for children and geriatrics. Pumpkins are $0.50 per lb. There were picnic tables and concessions set up for people to buy hotdogs, chips and soda. The local Bolton Lions Club had set up a donut making stand which were delicious.

NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL A CORN MAZE. Forget the map, work off intuition and problem solving skills. The maze was difficult and fun with none of those fancy overlook things. It also wasn’t crowded and felt like a legit farm vs. a farm Disneyland like Honey Pot. Not to mention, you can take your beer into the maze and if you’re a wine person, Nashoba is nearby. The farm doesn’t have much else though, some meh apple cider donuts and slices of pizza so don’t come hungry. It has a cool beer truck though with seating!

Schartner Farm hosted a small group of us for a work outing and we had the best time! Eric was extremely kind, accommodating and flexible leading up to and during our visit. The grounds were beautiful and we had a great time in the corn maze, picking apples and admiring the animals. We can’t wait to come back!

Their corn maze is really cool! In 2025, they had really wide paths and the corn was super healthy and tall. Pretty remarkable with the drought we've had this year. That said, the paths were one big dust bowl :) With the maze pass, they also offer a free hayride around the grounds.

I'm giving 4 stars only because we werent given any guidance when we purchased our passes and neither the entrance nor the exit had any signage. They staff were pleasant however and should be noted, though without any direction we kinda dove in blind. I Google'd a photograph to find our way out and easily lapped folks that were in there for a really, really long time (so they said which is why I downloaded a photo). We completed the maze in about 30-40 min and talked to folks whom we encountered, afterward. Those came out the way they went in.

We also did not apple pick. The rates seem reasonable. It is not a huge orchard, but they seemed to have a few varieties to choose from.

There was a music festival happening the day we were there and they had food and beverages to compliment the live music. There was a big turnout!

All in all, worth the trip and...

So this farm is only okay. Its not bad... but its not something id go out of my way to see. There was only two things, to do here. Pick apples or the corn maze. So corn mazes alone are only so fun... this is JUST a maze, so there is no additional activity to do besides walking the maze itself... which is only so fun... why this place loses soo many stars is their apple picking. They do zero pest prevention for their apples; this makes it really hard to pick apples when 85% of their apples are SEVERLY bruised or are hollow because the bugs ate everything inside.... what saves them... their staff is super kind and even were super reasonable when i lost my apple bag in the maze and asked for a replacement. So the people save the quality of this farm... but its not something id go out of my...

What a quintessential New England farm...a modest pumpkin patch, apple orchard and corn maze - it was such a beautiful property for fall activities, even the drive to the orchard took you through the darling town of Bolten, by a vineyard and by some iconic New England scenery. My friends and I purchased a few pumpkins and carved them on premise. We then enjoyed the corn maze which if you scanned the map, you'd notice the method behind the maddness and see the bigger picture...very clever! Overall, a nice little stop off the beaten path and perfect for enjoying the...
