Our family visited this park in the late afternoon at the end of April after starting our beach day in Naples. Frankly, I like this beach much better because it has a very shallow entry, only gradually gets deeper, and the water is usually calm. The beach is also better for shelling and is not as busy as Naples. Of course, as noted in many other reviews, the sunsets are spectacular and many people come at just that time to catch it. The entry to the park is a little deceiving as the signage is small and it looks like you are entering a gated community, which you actually need to do to access the park. Yes, the 1 percenters must hate it as us 99 percenters pass by their millon dollar homes to get to the park but those are the rules, everyone in FLA have the right to access all beaches. Unfortunately, the main building was closed for renovations when we went but there were port-o-potties available that were actually well kept. When the main building is open you can expect showers and i believe a limited food concession. Parking was easy but we arrived around 4p so not sure how things would be during the prime beach hours of the day. We definitely will go again and my vote will be to skip Naples altogether next time. Additionally, Bonita Springs is a great city, clean, everything you need, and not as busy as Naples. Can't wait for our next sunset, see you soon...
Read moreNice place to go and relax. They are still under disaster recovery bathrooms and showers and boardwalk are still destroyed from Hurricane Ian. But there are 5 Portables for restrooms in lot. Must pay parking through your cell phone the kiosks were destroyed in storm and no longer available. Limited parking maybe 30 to 40 spaces. What was nice is you can relax here and not one person played loud music from JBL speakers or boom boxes. You could actually sit and listen to the waves and hear yourself think. It was tranquil and how a beach should be. It actually surprised us how peaceful it was and groups were actually sitting together and having nice conversations and relaxing! I would say don't go in the middle of day very hot and steamy, no parking to be found and storms tend to roll in around 2 or 3pm. We went at 7am and left at 230 drove back each day in downpours. We had never worn water shoes and decided with people mentioning debris still there from all the hurricane damage we decided to try it. Best decision we ever made we could walk on shells and not cut our feet and the shoes were so comfortable! Heard so many people saying their feet hurt! I now know why. Invest in them will be a feet lifesaver super cheap on...
Read moreLove Bonita Beach park. We come here at least once a week. I wish they had more “hourly” parking. Because it’s always full if you don’t get there before 9:30 am, or somedays even earlier.
Parking is $2/hour or they have daily rate parking in a somewhat larger lot just south of the hourly lot for $10 a day. Park, then pay with a card, then go put the receipt on the dash. Bathrooms are decent for a public place and the outside showers to rinse off are operable.
The park has a few tables right as you get in, and then a few more about 100-200 feet south. Places to recycle and throw away trash are always well kept/emptied on a regular basis.
The area is marked off with buoys. Which makes it a very nice place to recreate, boats always stay a large distance away. Water is never incredibly clear, but it’s clean looking and always pleasant. Somedays, especially early mornings, the water is glassy smooth. Other days, especially if there is a storm predicted, there are significant waves. It really depends on the weather patterns, and loosely correlates with time of day.
We literally come here at least once or twice a week, and just love being able to...
