This place goes down in history for our families. My wife's middle name is Kendall and her parents were even married here. This park inside the Cuyahoga Valley National park is a must see! There is plenty of parking, large open fields, pavilions, modernized restrooms, and beautiful trails to traverse. Not to mention the ledges and rock formations are really a site to behold. Right across the street is Kendall Lake and below the ledges is the "Octagon" park. All within walking distance or drive if you don't want a hike. This is just one of dozens of parks within the Cuyahoga Valley. If you like nature and exploration, this is the place for you.

A Little history about our cave parks : As of the 80's and 90s not many know this but many of the caves in ALL the parks were mostly filled in with trees and dirt or locked off. I actually got to explore many of the caves 30+ years ago as a child and was at Nelson ledges and Virginia Kendall a couple times when they were filling them in. It happened because people sadly died in a few or died trying to get to them. (Some you would need to climb to) It was actually in the news a...

Great place for every outdoor occasion! There is outstanding hiking, even trails a wheelchair can traverse. Also, great rock structures to investigate. Incredible photo possibilities. Definitely worth a trip. Plus, large flat grass area for frisbee, kickball, or any other pick-up sport. Venue is great, lots of picnic tables available... whether it be covered under the rather large roof, extending off of the indoor venue... which is rustically awesome! Or dotted along the side of the green field...if it's not raining...every table is awesome!! Some are even romantic! But, the hiking, the trails, the views. . breathtaking monuments to and from Mother Nature. It is unique,...

Nice view of national park from this place, its very near to shelter and parking unless you want to take The Ledge Trail which is 1.5 mile loop. I would suggest once you park go directly there instead of taking full loop unless you really want to walk that much in woods. We didnt know this and had to take full 1.5 mile loop to reach there and when we saw its next to parking area we were like why we walk that much. Although I liked that jungle walk but not everyone is keen to walk that much. I would suggest visit in morning time or in afternoon so see fall colors, definitely not...

The ledges overlook was disappointing as far as overlooks are concerned. you're overlooking tree tops. i wouldnt consider it much of an overlook. maybe in the winter, when there are no leaves. If you only want to see the overlook, cut through the field from the far left of the parking lot, to the back left corner of the field. the rest of the trail below the rocks looks incredible, but we had just come from nelson quarry ledges, and were all rocked out. would love to do the full trail eventually. we just had better things to see
