We stopped here for a short break when driving from the Grand Canyon to LS. The place has a large parking right outside which is very convenient. We left the car and went to explore the place. It had a nice info stand with historical information and pictures. There are also a bunch of benches to see the beautiful view over the hills and the water. The scene is spectacular: red slopes and blue water. We saw many people walking and hiking in the area. Overall, a truly beautiful place as for walking as well as for enjoying the view from a bench.

Great trail from the lodge to the dam! Amazing views with tunnels included! It is about 3.5 miles from the lodge to the dam, but worth the trip. Neat things to see along the way! Bathroom about 1/2 way as well. Go check it out! You don’t need to stay at the lodge, just park on the north east side of the lodge and you can walk the trail.

This is a feeder trail to the main tunnels trail that runs from the Lake Mead Visitor Center to the Hoover Dam - very useful if you're staying at the hotel, but not really a shortcut because it adds a pretty stark elevation at the beginning/end of your hike. Regardless, it's a decent alternative to parking at the Lake Mead Visitor Center.
