I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning view of the surrounding desert landscape. Here's why I wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a destination: Impressive Amenities: The lodge offers a wide range of amenities that cater to every traveler's needs. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a long day of exploration. The in-room amenities, including a comfortable bed, flat-screen TV, and high-speed internet, made my stay even more enjoyable. Breathtaking Scenery: Situated near the iconic Hoover Dam, the lodge offers mesmerizing views of the Colorado River and the rugged desert terrain. Whether it was from my room, the casino, or the dining area, I was treated to captivating panoramas at every turn. Thrilling Casino Experience: As a casino enthusiast, I was pleased to find a well-designed and lively casino floor at the Hoover Dam Lodge. The variety of slot machines, table games, and poker rooms ensured there was something for every gaming preference. The friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere added to the excitement of trying my luck. Delicious Dining Options: The dining choices were fantastic, offering a blend of mouthwatering cuisines to satisfy any palate. From fine dining restaurants to casual eateries, I was spoiled for choice. I particularly enjoyed the hearty breakfast buffet, which provided a perfect start to my day. Convenient Location: The lodge's proximity to the Hoover Dam made it an ideal base for exploring this iconic landmark. Additionally, the easy access to other attractions in the area, such as Lake Mead and the scenic Arizona Hot Springs, made my stay all the more enriching. Attentive Staff: The staff at Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino truly went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. From the front desk personnel to the waitstaff at the restaurants, everyone was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Peaceful Retreat: Despite being a casino property, the lodge managed to create a peaceful and serene ambiance. Whether it was lounging by the pool or strolling through the well-maintained gardens, I found ample opportunities to relax and unwind. In conclusion, my experience at the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino was nothing short of exceptional. It perfectly blends the excitement of a lively casino with the tranquility of a desert oasis. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a memorable and rejuvenating getaway. Whether you're a gaming enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a comfortable retreat, the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino has it all. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I generally like a lodge type hotel/resort however, the booking site I used didn't say "& casino." I have no problem with gambling or casinos, but, as in many cases with casinos, this is a smoking facility. You can get non-smoking rooms, but all public areas are smoking. The room did not smell of smoke, which was good. The hallway smelled a little smoke. I'm not sure if there are smoking rooms or if this was just coming up from the lobby and casino area. Also, because this is a casino, it's not particularly kid friendly. Second hand smoke aside, of the many resturant options, there is only one that doesn't have slots or something similar in it, so there is only one resturant kids can eat in and it closes at 8pm. After eating there and going back to the room we had to change our clothes because we smelled like smoke. There are not a lot of immediate food options around the lodge. Also, the pool looks pretty but is ice cold, and there's just not much there for kids. Even the TV channel selection was poor, and wifi kept disconnecting. Location wise, it's great with proximity to the dam, Lake Mead, and Las vegas. The free parking and no resort fee is great. Rooms were a good size. I think we got a standard 2 queen room. The bed is decently comfy. I would have liked more than 1 super flat pillow and one medium lumpy pillow. The view wasn't bad but it ovelooked part of another building. Im ok with that. The doors are heavy, and they slam when shut even if you try to shut it quietly. I really had high hopes and wanted to like this place when i pulled in.The price per night was good, and the staff were great. The overall appearance of the inside and outside is pleasing. This type of faculty with smoking is fine. I was just a bit ticked because the hotel listing didn't make that information prevalent. If you have breathing issues, you won't be able to hang out long in the common areas. I wouldn't stay here again because I travel with my minor daughter. It's just not kid or family friendly because of the above-mentioned stuff. Even if traveling with another adult, I probably wouldn't because at the end of the day, after sight seeing, if you don't like to smoke and gamble, this is a rather boring place.

I like this place. It may not be what some people are looking for. But inside. All the dottys brand of locals casinos are represented here. It's like a food court of casinos. If you want a Mexican theme, a mardi gras theme, an Asian theme, you get the idea. In the center is a more typical casino. With a bar. Gift shop. The restaurant is closed and boarded up as of 10-26-25. Whatever they plan to do. The place also has free snacks you can munch on while you play. Things like some versions of chex mix, nuts, candy. You scoop into little cups they have right there. They hand out free drinks without any hassle as well. They have never said no to me. And I am not any kind of big gambler. Their best feature is the seating at the machines. You will never sit in a more comfortable chair. Everything raises and lowers to your high comfort. They have phone chargers. If you need to use the bathroom. You can type in a 4 digit pen number that gives you 6 min before the machine automatically unlocks. So make sure you are back in time. The menu will also tell you how long you played, how much money you put in how much you won.. you can play left or right handed, there is also a 2-player feature. Where the machine tells you when it's the other person's turn. Dotty brand locals casino also have HANDS DOWN the best price on bottles of liquor. No one comes anywhere near how cheap they sell theirs for. Apparently. It's the same on cigarettes. I don't smoke. But a ton of people come in constantly just to buy smokes. That would be my biggest compliment of Dotty Casino. The cigarettes are/can be absolutely horrific. If you smoke and run out of money, just go to a dottys. You can get your fix quite easily with the 2nd hand smoke. And that's another thing I like about this location. It's far enough off the beaten path that it is seldom that bad. The one by my house. I just could not go to anymore. It's sooooo bad. They need to start another name in the chain that is 100% non-smoking. Call it "Dottys non-smoking." Or "Dottys died of emphasima." How cool would it be to go into that casino. I bet you it would blow up on social media

Where to start...We first stayed at this hotel in 2021. At that time, there was a cafe open in the hotel that served breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu was varied and the food was decent quality and very convenient given the hotel's location. The rooms were clean and well kept. There were ice machines available for guest use. This was just at the end of Covid lockdown and people were starting to travel again. ||Fast forward to 2024. We booked to stay in this hotel again. We were doing a triathlon at Lake Mead and this hotel is incredibly convenient for that. First thing we noticed when we walked into the lobby area was the smell of cigarette smoke. There is a small lobby area with check-in desk and a large fireplace with seating. On the other side of the fireplace is a bar with slots, where people sit and smoke. We did not notice this the first time we stayed. We reserved a lake view "suite." The lake was visible if you sat in a chair by the window and looked in a certain direction. That was just funny.||Once again, the room was clean and well kept. The towels are nice and in good condition. The bed was comfortable enough. The pillows were weirdly small. The room air conditioner sounded like a semi truck every time it started up, which is kind of typical for hotel room air conditioners. There is a sink, mini fridge and a microwave in the room. There is no ability to make coffee in your room, no in room coffee maker. Instead, they give each room a couple of coupons for small cups of coffee in their General Store which sells small food items, breakfast pastries, etc. The one morning my husband tried to redeem the coffee coupons, there was no coffee, the tables in the eating area were all full and someone in the prep area was calling out that they were 20 minutes behind. So, no coffee, we went into Boulder City and got coffee and got instant coffee for the rest of the stay. ||The wi fi worked in the only lobby area for us. We were on the 15th floor and the wi fi never worked up there, on any of our devices, Android or Apple. I called down once to see if it could be fixed and went to the front desk once again to inquire. Kept being told that the router would have to be restarted, etc. Wi fi never did work on our floor for the duration of our trip. ||None of the ice machines are operational. There is a note to go ask for ice at the front desk. You go stand in line while the front desk people are all busy checking people in and they finally give you a plastic bag with your ration of ice. ||There is no regular housekeeping service. The sign on the front desk says that the rooms are serviced every three days and if you need more towels, trash emptied, etc., to call housekeeping and they would take care of it. Our trash was full the third day were there. Called down the front desk and was told to bag up our trash and leave it in the hall and someone would come pick it up. Which they did, leaving two empty trash bags draped over the door handle. No one could even be bothered to come in and actually empty the trash can, we had to do it ourselves. ||Finally, the Bighorn Cafe is closed. This was very inconvenient given the location of the hotel. There is nothing around this hotel in the way of restaurants. There a couple of small Dotty's type casinos in the building which serve snack type of food. You have to drive to Boulder City for anything like a real restaurant. Boulder City is just a few miles away, but it's not like you could walk anywhere to get a meal. The convenience of the restaurant was one of the main reasons we came stay here again. ||The smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby area was quite bad on Sunday morning. ||All in all, this was not a particularly cheap place to stay, and given the deficiencies above, it was no bargain. It's like the management kind of want you to stay there, but they don't really want you to enjoy your stay or be very comfortable. There seems to be no effort made to be hospitable. I really don't want sound like we are being nitpicky, but this place was not nearly as enjoyable or comfortable as on...

This one star is strictly for Desiree at the hotel front desk. We had the unfortunate luck of having her check us in. I wish I walked away at the start of her attitude but I stuck it out because we had timed plans we had to stick to. Literally from the moment I walked up to her counter she had a haughty air about her. I always initiate my business interactions with a very pleasant greeting along with a compliment to show I am a nice person to work with. She didn’t even offer a smile or a welcome. No eye contact unless it was to quite literally look down her nose at me. I made a mistake and hit the “no” option on the card reader and she immediately berated, belittled, and embarrassed me for that saying “you’re supposed to look and read the screen” Then she started being passive aggressive with everything she said to me when I asked questions about handicapped rooms, like I was annoying her. Then when she was poorly explaining how to get to the elevators to the rooms, I repeated what she said trying to clarify and she gave me a half-cocked stare, put her hands up and over enunciated “listen to me, you go behiiiiiind the fireplace” obviously treating me as if I was a very stupid person who doesn’t understand English. I was fighting back tears while still trying to be so nice because I was embarrassed and didn’t want her to talk to me so mean anymore. I just wanted to finish checking in and leave. The poor woman who worked up there with her was so embarrassed of Desiree’s behavior she kept looking down and just sad. She did offer me a sweet smile when I glanced her way because she knew I was about to cry by the sound of my voice. I have never in all of my life been treated so poorly for absolutely no reason other than existing. I am so nice I was trying to compliment her hair even to get her to stop being cruel to me. It didn’t work. My entire rest of the day was ruined because I really did not deserve that at all. We chose to stay here instead of camping at willow beach for our little weekend fishing trip. We won’t be staying there again. No damn way will I be subjected to such a mean and miserable person. What’s worse in all of this, is that I am a former Dotty’s employee and I know the high standard of service that is expected to be given to every single customer and Desiree does not meet any of those standards. She quite literally has no business at all in ANY customer service position. If any of my employees ever had the nerve to so much as speak out of tone to a paying customer of mine, they’d be fired on the spot. I do not tolerate anything less than the best for the people who pay for what I provide. Dotty’s usually does better, I think Desiree must’ve put a big fat facade on during her...
