Stumbled into this tiny little area down a dead end road, but it is so worth it. The Teachatticup Mine is one of a kind, it’s owned by a family and you’ll likely chat with some of them when you stop. It’s a quirky place, full of old memorabilia, items, unique one-of-a-kind cars, and it feels like it’s straight of out of a Mad Max movie. If you stay for 15 minutes or less, it’s free, or they charge several dollars if you want to linger around and take more photos. It’s worth paying the few dollars and walking around to get all those photos we want for social media. Read moreVery disappointed to have taken the trip out to have arrived at 11:45 and be told that the noon tour had just left, then to wait for the 2:00, only to be told that a tour bus which came through at 1:30 had arranged a special tour, and that therefore the 2:00 was cancelled. It would have been nice to have been told that there wasn't going to be a 2:00 when we asked. I'm sure the silver mine tour is interesting and informative, but communication to potential customers was totally lacking. Also worth noting: not all of the artifacts shown are contemporaneous with the place and time, notably school buses from Passaic Township, New Jersey, and a little town in Kentucky, which may cast doubts...
Read morePretty awesome place! There is a fee required if you plan on taking photos with anything other than a cellphone camera. While I do understand this, I feel as though this fee should be limited to only commercial photographers that are doing a photoshoot or something similar.
