Top notch red wood tree park. Many wonderful trails to choose from. Tips for visitors: bring water, food, comfortable shoes, cash ($10 parking), bug spray. There is food and other snacks for purchase with cash or credit. The road in can be a bit narrow. Take your time. Parking tip: they use sand to mark valid spots. There is a mix of parallel and perpendicular spots. Many spots were not taken because sand gets obscured over time. Look closely for spot marks and you may have a better chance of finding a place to park.

Beautiful park with many unique trees. This place feels similar to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in many ways, but the location is slightly more remote in that you will need to traverse many more miles of winding roads to reach visitor's center. With this remoteness comes a deeper and less crowded forest that is photogenic at every turn. Definitely worth a visit.

Really nice, relaxing hikes available here. $10 to get in, parking can be a pain if you don't get in before 10am. Sequioa trail was a great, enjoyable walk that doesn't require a specific pace, 4 miles total. Amazingly tall and wide-girth Redwood trees, enough to leave you in awe. Lunch area at the main information booth if you need food or water.

The park is beautiful but overcrowded on weekends. Zero parking. They don't mind taking your $$ first. Good luck trying to find a spot. I arrived around noon Saturday and wasted an hour of my time trying to park while dodging clueless tourists walking in the middle of the road. Gave up and went to the beach! I visited this park regularly in the 1980s.. 1990s.. Zero parking problems. Zero crowds. Now it's just another Disneyland, at least...

Beautiful forested State Park. I’ve stayed in redwood forests before but not one the size and scope of BIg Basin. It was a wonderful place to unplug and unwind for 6 days. Plenty of trials and scenery throughout. We stayed in the rustic Huckleberry cabins which was a nice set up, saving from having to tow or set up a tent. A hike to Berry Falls with young family members was a nice half day trek. This is a top 5 camping...
