Such a beautiful place, but very badly damaged by the fire in 2020/2021, and a lot of the other trails are still closed. The park is doing a great job of restoring everything, but it’s definitely going to take many years for things to get back to normal. Though many of the redwoods are still standing, most have been burned and have lost their height and side branches, so you don’t get nearly the same experience as the area used to have. FYI the surrounding region of the park, there is no parking so you have to pay 10 dollars to park inside of the state park. They also offer some water bottles for 3 dollars each. The main trails were well maintained while some other ones were under construction from previous storms or fires. Beautiful trees which of most have heavy outer burn from the recent fires.
