By far my (and my dog's) favorite "trail walk" in Boulder. We go up and back for a total of about 1.5 miles which is a nice easy break in the middle of the morning. The unpaved portion is a winding path next to the creek with beautiful views of the mountains. If you have the special tag your dog can be off-leash and there are usually several off-leash dogs on the trail whenever we go. It can get muddy in spots after snow and rain, but it's generally well maintained. As of the writing of this review they are finishing up some rehab on a large section of the unpaved trail which should make it have better drainage and be more resistant to erosion. Some dogs and school children go in the creek when it's warmer (my dog will not). You can also easily walk a little further to or from the East Boulder Community Center where there is a dog park.

Beautiful views, dog friendly, kid friendly, bike friendly. Creek is great in summer for kids and dogs. Cement path or dirt trail options. Easy / flat the entire way. Accessible from 55th street (East Boulder Rec Center or Baseline). Connects to other trails if you want to keep going. Great leisurely trail for the fall. Lots of foliage and a good variety of fall colors, including some brights reds. Still nice during the summer with plenty of shade, but absolutely swarming with mosquitos near the creek during summer.

The Bobolink trailhead parking area is a small lot that probably allows for 15 or so cars. You can hike the 1.5 mile section of South Boulder Creek from Baseline to South Boulder Rd and connect to a 2 mile section of it that runs from South Boulder Rd to Marshall Rd. South Boulder Creek Trail is a flat multi-use trail that is wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly. It’s a wonderful to hike on late summer afternoons because the sun is behind the trees and the creek running next to it makes the hike nice and cool. There are also some smaller social trails that run right next to the creek. Just look out for areas that are under restoration or a habitat conservation area. Also the East Boulder Recreation Center is accessible off the City’s...

Beautiful area to take a hike or relax by the stream, as the babbling waters drown out the sounds of the city, but beware of the broken glass!! My rental car and several other vehicles were recently broken into at the trailhead here!! It was a beautiful day, tons of people were out enjoying the sunshine with their children and pets, while a few others were targeting unattended vehicles for theft. Apparently it's a common problem; please don't leave anything slightly resembling a valuable in sight!! Don't let a broken window and stolen goods ruin your experience here, because otherwise it would have...
