We adore everything about this farm! The owners are wonderful, the CSA is abundant, the eggs are delish and they host great parties. We have known the owners, Dennis and Melanie, for a few years now. Their passionate about both the environment as well as personal health. Their CSA is targeted at growing local vegetables in a way that is gentle on the environment. They also hope that the CSA will encourage people to eat their greens, and other vegetables, thereby creating heathlier people in our community. The eggs are also wonderful! They have a multitude of hens and they are productive! In the summer we receive a dozen eggs per week and love how fresh they are. The yolks are a warm golden color. The egg itself is a buoyant and fluffy right when you crack the shell. Yummy! And if you would like to host a party at their farm, Dennis and Melanie have everything down to a science. Your guests will enjoy their beautiful gardens and shaded farm table. What do you get when you cross beautiful soil and family famers that love growing food? Sunbeam farm on 1005 Cherryvale road in Boulder Colorado. I first visited them when they had their Amazing Plant sale, which happens in May and June. There were so 27 varieties of tomatoes, and peppers, last count was 25, and most I have never heard of or tasted. And flowers, at least 37 different plants. 12 different herbs, and about 40 different vegetables. Their farm stand is open usually during the summer and fall. Yes, it’s all organically grown, and they make their own compost Their root vegetables are some of the sweetest, I have ever tasted. The greens huge. All at $3 a generous bushel. They also have multi-hued eggs kept in the fridge They have workshops teaching seed starting, drip irrigation, worm cultivation, composting to name a few. Longmont, Louisville, Lafayette and Boulder peeps – you have to visit Sunbeam Farm’s stand at 1005 Cherryvale Road in Boulder. The farm provides locals with outstanding produce. There is a great selection of organic plants, seasonal veggies, hardy greens and herbs – all reasonably priced. The produce is harvested daily and is delicious.
