Great 2+ mile out and back to the scenic overlook from the trailhead. Trail has some gentle hills to climb and ascend before getting to the tougher and steeper climb mainly on rocks. Some areas mini spikes were helpful as some rocks were icy from not seeing much sun, being walked on, then refreezing overnight. If you don't have spikes it won't prevent you from getting to the top, but will slow you down or take a different course around the rocks. View from the top was great but the top, top is small so only a limited number of people can be up there at a given time. Waited about 15 minutes for the previous group of 6 people to come down. Don't let my last statement deter you from going. All along the trail are some great views of Boulder, nearby mountains, the plains and even Denver.

Great Hike! Parking area in Gregory canyon has a fee, but you can park on baseline and just walk a short distance to the trailhead. There a few ways to make it to the top, with summit access from both EM Gregory and Ranger trails. Most of the rails is an easygoing, steady climb, with some great views and spots to take a break. We did a loop from Gregory canyon, up ranger, down EM Gregory, and finishing through amphitheater trail. Total distance was around 5 miles and took us less than 4 hours. It was still pretty damp with patchy snow toward the summit in both directions. There are bathrooms at the trailhead.

Beautiful, stunning views of Boulder on one side and the Continental Divide the other. 3.3 mile hike one way from the base of Gregory Canyon, but you can half that if you drive up Flagstaff a ways. There are a few different trails to hike up that will get you there, at least one of which that doesn't allow dogs, others that require a leash. Snow sticks around a while up there so stick to the south facing trail in the early spring, or bring traction.

Beautiful. Esp considering the trailhead is practically within Boulder. Took my girlfriend and her two golden retrievers (they moved here from CT about a week ago). It was a pretty serious challenge. 2500 ft of elevation gain and about 5.5 miles total round trip distance from Gregory Canyon Trailhead. Keep in mind, there are several trailheads you can use off of Baseline Rd/Flagstaff Rd. We chose the longest one - perhaps regrettably. If you don't have several hours (for slow movers estimate five) and don't want 2000+ vertical, consider one of the trailheads further up Flagstaff Rd.

The views are top notch. Busy trail but not terribly...
