So this was a hike for me. I am in Fauquier Co so I usually hit the splash pad in Culpeper so I kept thinking as I drove to meet my friend, PLEASE be worth the trip and it totally was. The map dumped me from a maze of round abouts to this huge compound! It is quite impressive! Many sports fields and shelters. It had a frisbee golf course, a nature area and of course what I was there for a splash pad. The splash area was HUGE there was a section for younger and older kids that blended together. My middle schooler even had a good time and she is hard to impress. There were bathrooms there to change and use. A climbing playground is right around the corner from the splash area. This place is very new so the trees haven't filled in to give it much shade, so I'll caution ppl on that but otherwise I would go back. Also bring food! Read moresuch a wonderful park for all ages! i’ve gone numerous times already with my 2.75 year old- the splash pad is so spread out that even with many kids, it doesn’t feel crowded. the main playground is perfectly for the little ones with rubber flooring- there are some structures that are meant for older kids but they are not the majority of the park.
the ONLY downside, if I can even say that it’s a downside, is that there aren’t many shaded areas. so if you go on a very hot sunny day (which most of us do to go to a splash pad) be prepared to lather up...
Read moreLove this park, It is a very good place for kids to play at. But saw this today at the park, some guy openly doing hookah next to all the kids. Not sure if it's a regular thing. Would be nice if someone takes care of this. I would definitely like to come back. It's a pity that I am even requesting the management to put up signs against smoking of any kind, people should do better. Hate to see some random idiot ruin this...
