Hal and Bernie is one of the nicest playgrounds in NoVA that I've taken my son to. We come here quite often, and it's usually a tearful goodbye for my 2 year old because he never wants to leave. The park is well kept with employees maintaining the grounds all throughout the day. We were here yesterday afternoon, and there were employees actively walking around collecting any bits of trash on the ground. This is great because you never know what a kid could pick off the ground and try to eat. In the summertime, they have the splash pad area open, which is really nice on a hot summer day. There are plenty of public restrooms and Pavillions for use. The pavilions are very nicely kept with plenty of picnic tables. There is a very nice Pavillion right near the splash pad. I have seen many birthday parties in the summer months hosted here with plenty of room for everyone. There is also a smaller playground across the street from the splash pad. It is great for the little guys. Sometimes there are a lot of big kids at the playground near the soccer fields and they can play a little too rough for the little guys so it's nice that there are 2 separate areas to accommodate...

Took my kids here on Spring Break and we were blown away by the options! The playground space is incredibly fun and interactive; many climbing, hiding, bouncing and spinning options with fun animal statues throughout. This playground easily offers something to kids from 2-12. We cannot wait to come back to play in the large splash pad / water playgrounf area this summer! We were able to visit the nature center and walk around on the grounds a bit by the lake. We only saw some turtles inside the nature center (hoping more animals to be added soon?) but we were able to explore the building and do some coloring, peeking with binoculars, learn about all kinds of animal furs and bird wingspans! It is a beautiful, new facility with plenty of walking paths as well. Good parking, places to eat/get shade, bathrooms and all around a lot of fun. We plan to frequent this...
