Bud's Fish Market — Attraction in Branford

This was my first experience with Bud’s. Our Branford friends asked us to pick up some salmon for dinner. I called in advance to have 4lbs put aside. Hal (nicest guy ever!) told me he had the best fresh King Salmon in stock and that it was “buttery and delicious” and it would be the best salmon we would ever have. He could not have been nicer on the phone, and was even more personable in person! What a great store with great staff! So many wonderful food items and goodies in there besides seafood and fish. When I arrived my order was nicely packaged and boxed up, ready to go. Well-Hal was correct and every single person (there were 10 of us) said it was THE BEST salmon they had ever eaten! 5 stars! First time at this business and so sticker shocked, compared to other seafood places (spent $200.00 on a bunch of stuff). Was assured their lobster was so fresh compared to grocery stores. Bought a 3.25 pound lobster at $24.99 a pound, and the meat was shrunk in the shell terribly, like it was in the tank for some time. Less than 2 pounds of steamers cost $50.00 bucks.
