The slides are fun for the kids and there's plenty of open area to run and play including playing volleyball/soccer,etc. There's a pavilion for picnics. I would suggest you bring wipes/hand sanitizer for your personal use. There's a men's restroom and women's restroom near the playground. Also, if you are opting to play tennis or badminton there are tennis courts to the side of the parking area apart from the playground...I don't use them personally but alot of people in thee area play regularly and are very competitive. If you want to walk around thee outskirts of the playground area, there's a paved path and a portion that has a sidewalk. There's also a walking bridge over the body of water which the water is pretty low and dried up in areas now and you do want to watch out for cotton mouth snakes and water moccasins especially with a lot of bare rocks and overgrowth along the river bank right now (July 10th, 2023) but there are also a few paths down to the water if you want to check it out..just keep your eyes open and be very observant for baby snakes coming out from under unsuspecting rocks along the waters edge. Across the walking bridge is another paved parking area and skateboard ramp for those skateboard pros. Alot of youth use the skateboard ramp. If you need to walk your dog it is highly suggested you keep your pet on a leash to walk it around thee outskirts of the play area and have its dog tags on for identification purposes. Hope...
Read moreStockstill Park is a really great location to go for a quick, easy walk🚶♂️🚶♀️; and, there are both a longer hiking trail (~1 mile paved alongside Roark Creek) and a small dog run (Marra Memorial) nearby.
The actual park itself is layed out nicely. It has a 1/2 mile (paved) walking path, two ball diamonds, and a nice, covered picnic pavilion with some grills available for use. Across the wooden bridge is a playground with a skate board ramp. Clean public restrooms are nearby, as is ample parking in 2 separate lots.
The view alongside the creek or from the small bridge is very pleasant (see photos).
The only issue with the dog park is obtaining a "membership" which [apparently] requires actual paperwork documentation for your dogs health records and a $25-30 annual fee (resident versus visitor). While I do not presently have one, other reviews seem to indicate it's a bit of a chore getting one...which is unfortunate.
Branson seems to have several different recreational areas available for its citizens and visitors, all of which appear to be very well maintained. ...
Read moreOne of my favorite parts of our visit to Branson was spending the afternoon at Stockstill Park. Most of it was spent playing in the creek, but a couple of my small nieces and nephews did play on the playground for a bit. The water is clear and we were able to easily find a couple of areas where the water was shallower and moved slower, so the kids could play with supervision. NOTE Bring water shoes - there are tons of small rocks in and along the creek that are painful to walk on, and in the deeper areas of the creek the bigger slabs of rocks can be slippery.
In addition to the playground, there was also a baseball field, a large open field, bathrooms, and...
