I wanted to share some honest feedback regarding my recent experiences at the circulation front desk. Each time I visit, I’m made to feel uncomfortable—often having to explain myself multiple times just to rent materials. It’s discouraging and leaves me with a negative impression. There always seems to be an issue, and the process rarely feels smooth or welcoming.
As a local resident and taxpayer, I value the library and its resources. However, if I weren’t currently in the situation I’m in, I would likely avoid stopping at the front desk altogether—specifically due to the interactions I’ve had with the young man and young woman who are frequently there. Unfortunately, they consistently make me feel unwelcome.
On a more positive note, Kevin who has worked there since I was a child is always kind, helpful, and respectful. Whenever I visit to use the computer lab, I have a great experience—thanks in large part to him.
There’s much more I could say, but I don’t want to single anyone out the way I often feel singled out when I visit.
