Quite nice. Most of the trails are rough and unpaved, which is exactly how I like it so I feel like I'm on a real hike on an adventure. The facilities are excellent - toilets, after hours exit gate with automated sensor, etc. Very little to complain about. Probably not worth knocking an entire star off as I have done, but my main complaint would be that we tried to walk the green trail, but couldn't find signs for it. It's the shortest, easiest trail, so we thought we'd start with that to get a taste of the park. Alas, we ended up just following some track for about a mile, seeing signs for almost every trail except the green trail, until suddenly, we found signs for the green trail. Not really a major problem - hiking areas are often poorly signposted, and in fact, it looks like this park is well signposted for most of the trails, just not so much the green trail for whatever reason. In short, we liked the park a lot and will probably become...
Read moreGreat hiking trails and beautiful spots for taking pictures! The old Smith House is a historic gem for the area and it has nice porches for pictures as well as the beautiful fields surrounding the property. There are two restroom locations with water fountains that make it convenient for walking around for and hour or more without worrying about that. A secret fun thing to check out that not many people know about is the spring cellar that's in front of the house across the entrance street when you are going towards the rear parking area. It's a structure that was built over a spring for the purpose of keeping perishable food items from spoiling too quickly, like a modern day refrigerator. It's a cool piece of history built for "convenience" back then! It's just fun to check out what our predecessors from history did to live through a day and it's preserved...
Read moreVery cool park. There are all kinds of things to do here. First the new hiking trails are great. They range from easy to moderate to strenuous. The playground is fun and its right next to a pavilion so you can sit and chill for a minute. There is a water faucet/pump there for your puppies and also for you if you need to put your head under it after a hike in the summertime. The soccer fields appear to be regulation size. The park also connects to the Brentwood greenway system. They have clean bathrooms and plenty of parking. The old Ravenswood house on the property is super cool too. Its takes you back in time if you go stand on the porch and look into...
