Great place to ride or walk from many places on Cape Cod. Paved in almost all places. Watch for crosswalks and tunnels. Earlier in the day, it’s less traveled and easier to navigate. If you’re pedaling like me, be careful of people walking two or three wide or people walking a dog with the leash stretched across the trail. I always announce my self (on your left) when approaching from behind another bike or a runner/walker. If you’re cycling, watch out for the raised portions of the sidewalk. Many are marked with faded yellow paint, but as new roots grow, the pavement gets new humps. Some 1-2% inclines, but flat most of the way.

Read moreI've been using this trail now for 20 years and it's always a new adventure. It's an amazing well maintained trail and always a wonderful experience. There's everything you could ask for; Ponds, Wetlands, The Ocean, Dunes, Hardwood and Conifer Forests, Cranberry Bogs and Marshes, and historic little towns and villages. And if you're hungry there's also so many great little spots right along the trail. There's almost too many to mention. We always love stopping at Guapo's and Breakwater Fish and Lobster Market in Brewster. There's Rock Harbor Grill (Great Pizza!!), Orleans Seafood Fish Market, Hot Chocolate Sparrow in Orleans. In Harwich there's the Seal Pub and Cafe. And in Wellfleet there's PB Boulangerie Bistro. Plus there's many many more in walking distance...

Along the way we stopped at JT's restaurant for lunch in Brewster. I kept convincing the kids that we would go to a ice cream shop and that's what kept them motivated to keep on peddling. The trails are fairly flat and very small lengths that you have to go uphill.
Most people are very good with the bike rules however you have to make sure that you let people know that you're going to be passing on...
