Decent little local park on the water to go chill, only problem is some years back they had a brainstorm to start charging for a beach badge during the season, like you're at the real beach and anybody with common sense is gonna go in that water that seems to be closed down many times when they do a water test. And the problem with this place is they put a state-of-the-art park with every slide, swing, jungle gym you can think of with the entire area cushioned that had to cost over a million yet that's free to everyone that come from other towns by the van full and overrun the park where people who live here can barely get their kid on something certain days of the week that they pay property tax for. I'll never get that one, the rinky dink beach of sand and pebbles costs money just to set foot on during the season but the rest that cost a fortune is free. If you want to be money grubbers may as well just charge to enter the park or at least allow free access to the tax paying...

The park is absolutely beautiful, it's HUGE. There's parking, handicap included, closer to the kids playground area and then parking further down closer to the water. It seemed like there were some walking/hiking paths and dogs were everywhere! The beach itself was a little smaller but you are unable to swim in it anyway and it didn't seem like it got too busy where overcrowding was an issue. We'll see come summer though!
The rocks and weathered glass we found was gorgeous and were ample.
Playground area: There were two play areas-one for younger kids, and one for children I'd say that are 3 and up with a little library across the street.
Other amenities: There were bathrooms, 3 horseshoe rows(closer to the parking lot across from the children's play area), and picnic tables(although they weren't out yet).
I loved it here and can't wait to come...
Read moreWent to farmers market on Sat. June 26, 2021 for the first time. I was very disappointed I must say. I thought there would be more vendors..but it did look like rain, so maybe some didn't come to set up. Understandable..but what disappointed me most was buying bakery goods that were stale. Purchasing a crumb bun for $6.00 is pricey, (looked good so I splurged) that's okay, if editable....but it wasn't, ... and 2 danish for $10.00 which weren't so good either. (They were pre-wrapped so it was hard to tell.) Also, staffer picked out the crumb bun for me..maybe it was known which ones to get rid of first???.I'm usually not a complainer, but this has to be known. I won't go back to the farmers market, but the park and beach are great! And I did enjoy meeting up with a...
