We had read reviews on TripAdvisor and did a few google searches and other visitors said that dogs were allowed. We were disappointed to find out that after driving 7hrs to get there we were unable to get in because we had our dog with us. We didn’t see anywhere on the website info about dogs but assumed those visitors were correct and it made sense to us why dogs would be allowed since it’s essentially just a walking trail, but we really don’t know what all is behind the gates as we couldn’t go through with leaving our dog in the car after such a long drive. We would’ve gladly paid an entrance fee for our dog if it were an option but seeing as there’s a fee to enter we didn’t want to feel rushed to go through it all with our dog stuck in the car. We took a few photos out front and left. The lady at the desk seemed apologetic that no dogs were allowed. Another couple was there at the same time with their dog as well and seemed shocked to have to leave their dog in the car. It would be helpful to have it clearly stated on the website or in their phone message that they aren’t allowed anymore. The website also stated spring hours were closing at 5pm but we called and found an automated message saying it’s actually 6pm so perhaps call before you visit for...
Read moreIt was a bit over 30$ total for our family (2 adults and one child aged 9) to purchase admission to the prehistoric garden. Its a neat thing to see if you spot it whilst on a trip and just pull over on a whim but to be honest the "prehistoric" garden is no different than seeing native Oregon forest. This is not a good idea if you need ambulatory assistance as the entire route is rock/gravel and at times narrow.Your are told rules once you pay one of which is you can't touch anything! They included leaning and grabbing onto.It isn't something you should plan as a trip to go see save your money and find a forest. The dinosaurs are kind of cool for the kids but it's not helpful they the kids can't touch them which really bums kids out. Regardless of weather I'd recommend heading to seaside Oregon even better if you can stay a few days to relax and check...
Read moreReally a 3.5 experience, but I’m rounding up
The lady who gave us the tickets was nice enough, but really insisted that we didn’t use our own stroller even though on the website it says the whole place is wheelchair accessible.
So we use their stroller and it was awful.
The wheels didn’t work right and tore up their gravel trail, our jogging stroller would’ve worked just fine. If you had a double wide stroller, that would be a little tight, I would not recommend a double stroller.
The exhibits seem maintained and I would say 6 out of the 14 dinosaurs were worth looking at, our two-year-old enjoyed it.
The rainforest was really cool to see. We ended up having some laugh out loud moments throughout the journey. I think we were in the exhibit area for less than 15 minutes.
$14 per adult under two free
It was a fun off the highway tourist...
