Sandy Hills Skate Park — Attraction in Brooklyn Park

Not sure why it has any negative reviews because the place is pretty rad and unique. The drainage ditch type bowl thingy is awesome as hell and loads of fun even if you're in a lazy mood. The ramps aren't bad but that drainage thing is like something you'd find at a DIY spot built into some old aqueduct in California. People say it's in a bad part of town because the neighborhood is run down unfortunately but no one bothers you at all and the times we were there young families and kids were everywhere yet very well mannered. Those leaving negative reviews based on using helmets should get in the habit of using one because it sounds like you've got a few too many bumps on the head and let's face it, what county or skate park owner wants to get sued for your stupidity? do not skate here. its not worth your time. The front sign says that protective equipment is not required but encouraged and the park closes at Sunset. But when you go in there's a guy hiding behind the building trying to extort you into signing a waiver and claiming you have to wear a helmet. This park is in disrepair in poorly maintained. The park is great for kids learning to ride bikes and skate boards on ramps and pipes and even bowls. My son loves going there and learning new tricks from the other people that are there. Just wish they would have the bathrooms open and functional but I can understand why when people just want to break and tare the facilities up. We all know a few bad apples ruin it...
